North Iceland has notable geothermal regions in and around Lake Mývatn, the most dramatic being Hverir Geothermal Area. The landscape is marked with mudpots, steam vents and fumaroles (an opening in the planet’s crust) that pump steam in heavy, warm clouds of gas from the earth. HereHere, the color palette of the landscape ranges from light gray to muddy beige with a backdrop of smoky brown-gray steam.

This surreal landscape is embodied in the Smoky Quartz pendants of the SIGIL Iceland Collection. The beautiful minerals selected each have their own characteristics, from elestial smoky (metaphysically known to combat depression) to exceptional color and translucency.

Smoky quartz is associated with grounding and protection properties, including the neutralization of negative energies and detoxification.

The SIGIL Hverir Smoky Quartz # 1 is a Rare Smoky Skeletal (Elestial) Quartz Crystal that has a stunning body resembling a candle with wax dripping over the sides. This unique smoky quartz crystal has two connection points to the 1” ring, and secured with sculpting material and darkened to match the brown-gray landscape of Mývatn. The dramatic size of the body is punctuated with several clusters of clear to smokey “twins” at the base that extends into the center of the primary crystal piece. The main column piece comes to a single terminating point that is opaque-clear. The color is clear to light-smokey at the base, deepening to a consistent gray-brown with impeccable clarity along the center piece to the terminating point.

Measurements: 3" long from top of ring to bottom of stone. 1 3/8” at widest. Suede leather cord hangs 14" from knot to top of ring.

Hverir Smoky Quartz # 1 is the most dramatic of the 3 pieces in the Hverir series in the Iceland Collection.

This piece has a reassuring weight to it. Not recommended for children. Avoidance of dropping is recommended.
