what is sigil?

The brand SIGIL was created in 2014 by Designer anita arora in Seattle, WA, USA. a 3-piece collection of women’s outerwear (a vest, coat and cape), SIGIL was presented as a final Line Graduating Collection at Seattle Central College’s highly esteemed School of Apparel Design & Development. Having realized that a deep calling was underway, Anita was determined to find a place for her designs post-graduation. the inspiration and style that was born in her graduate collection took new form in the more limited time available after work and on weekends. From there, SIGIL grew. SIGIL leather goods spring up, specializing in leather goods, accessories, and later, raw mineral jewelry. Throughout its journey, some things have never changed. SIGIL has always been handmade in small batches using only the finest quality materials available.

whether it’s a one-of-a-kind leather cross bag, a pouch or raw mineral sculpted jewelry. The inspiration for SIGIL comes from one place - the dark and majestic terrain of Iceland, a country the designer fell in love with in 2015, to which she’s returned 5 times since.

Sigil is a symbol representing a name or entity. It may belong to a family, as in a crest, a magical symbol, or as a personal emblem.

SIGIL, as a brand, interprets this meaning as, “that which we choose to wear is an outward representation of our inner intent, and of who we are”.
