About Jökulsárlón:

Jökulsárlón is Iceland’s “Jewel” Glacier Lagoon, located in Southeast Iceland. This stunning lagoon is characterized by the movement of large floating glacier ice in an array of shapes and vibrant blue colors. The ancient ice (blue ice is the oldest ice in the world) is “calved” from Vatnajökull Glacier (translates in English to “Water Glacier“) that then floats along the lagoon on the way out to sea.

Measurements:

• 1” from top of ring to bottom of mineral x 1/2” at widest.

• Chain length: 24” end to end with lobster claw closure. Chain is a stainless steel metal chain and the jump ring is nickel.

The Process:

A small nickel ring is joined to the rough mineral surface using the signature SIGIL technique. This technique involves using a sculpting compound that is worked slowly and meticulously into the stone’s structure, hardening overnight. The technique I developed works with the mineral’s natural contours, making the sculpting compound appear to “flow” into the mineral. This allows each piece to be truly one of a kind, just like the mineral itself, and results in a seamless appearance.

It stacks very well when worn with longer pendants, or perfect alone. Please note - the existing stainless steel chain may be switched, if desired, for a long, smooth leather cord to allow for a stacking option with other SIGIL pendant pieces. I recommend the smooth leather cord for pendants this size, over suede, as they move and sit in place much better.
