North Iceland has notable geothermal regions in and around Lake Mývatn, the most dramatic being Hverir Geothermal Area. The landscape is marked with mudpots, steam vents and fumaroles (an opening in the planet’s crust) that pump steam in heavy, warm clouds of gas from the earth. Here, the colors range from light gray to muddy beige with a backdrop of smokey brown-gray steam.

This surreal landscape is embodied in the Smokey Quartz clusters of the SIGIL Iceland Collection. The beautiful clusters each have their own characteristics, from double terminations to small twins partially emerged from the primary piece.

Smokey quartz is associated with grounding and protection properties, including the neutralization of negative energies and detoxification.

The SIGIL Hverir Smokey Quartz # 1 has a long body with a dramatic cluster of clear to smokey small crystals at the base that extends into the center of the primary crystal piece, that also has a twin residing the the right of center. The piece extends in a wide, single terminating point. The color is clear to light-smokey at the base, deepening to a consistent gray-brown with impeccable clarity along the center piece to the terminating point.

Measurements: 3 1/8" long from top of ring to bottom of stone. Leather cord hangs 14" from knot to top of ring.

Hverir Smokey Quartz # 1 is the most dramatic of the 3 pieces in the Hverir series in the Iceland Collection.

All pieces have a hefty weight to them. Not recommended for children. Avoidance of dropping is recommended.
